Who is eligible?

Any man, 18 or older, who is sober and drug-free, may apply for enrollment in the program.       

Do I need a high school diploma?

No high school diploma or GED is required to attend CMJC.  We will help you enroll in a GED program that works for you, should you desire a GED. 

What can I expect to find in CMJC?        

This FREE 12-week program provides you with job and life skills training, including Microsoft Office 2010 computer software.  Our curriculum prepares you for today's workforce and life's challenges, and builds character that employers are seeking.  Our participants also receive a meal each class evening.

CMJC Programs:

  • Are free to participants
  • Require an application and interview
  • Assist you in networking with employers
  • Provide a free meal each evening of class
  • Require regular attendance just like your employer would
  • Commence with graduation and certificate

What hours and days will I attend?

CMJC is a part-time evening program that is 12 weeks long.  You are required to attend classes  Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.  The Spring program begins in February and fall program begins in August.

David Wells

CMJC Program Director

David Wells joined the Christian Job Corps (CJC) of Kendall County as Christian Men's Job Corps (CMJC) Director on July 17.  David is not new to CMJC. Lynn Heckler, CJC's executive director says, "He's been the core leader for the Jobs for Life® component in the last five program sessions, sharing his expertise as a seasoned Human Resources (HR) professional to help the students. His 25 years of experience in recruiting, HR, job coaching, and operations management and his degree in Business Administration are assets to the professional development of our students and CJC's ability to equip adults for life and vocation."

David has lived in Texas for the past 25 years with his wife, a native Texan.  They moved to Boerne 4 years ago with the desire to spend the rest fo their lives in this community. In addition to his love for Boerne and CJC, David is has a passion for cars and is also a supporter of the Racers for Christ.
